Privacy Policy

MindBuilder does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Your mind maps are your files, stored where you put them.

Information we collect

None. MindBuilder contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not ask you to sign in, and we operate no servers that receive your content.

This website collects nothing either. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts or assets from anyone else - every file it serves comes from this domain.

Where your documents live

Mind maps are ordinary documents on your device. If you choose to store them in iCloud Drive, they sync through your own Apple Account using Apple's infrastructure - we have no access to that storage and no ability to read your documents.

Documents you password-protect are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM, using a key derived from your password. That password is never transmitted, never stored, and cannot be recovered by us. If you lose it, the document cannot be opened.

Network connections

MindBuilder works fully offline. It makes a network request in only one case, and only when you ask it to:

• Research. When you look a topic up, the word or phrase you selected is sent to Wikipedia's public API to fetch a summary. Choosing "search the web" opens a DuckDuckGo search in your default browser.

These requests go directly from your device to those services and are subject to their own privacy policies. They are not routed through us, and we receive no copy of them. If you never use Research, MindBuilder makes no network requests at all.

Calendar and Reminders

If you export task dates to Calendar or Reminders, MindBuilder asks your permission first and then writes the events to your own Apple Calendar or Reminders. That information stays on your device and in your Apple Account. We do not read your calendar or reminders, and nothing is sent to us.

Files and attachments

MindBuilder reads and writes files you select - maps, images and attachments. It accesses only what you open or save, and only for as long as it needs to. Nothing is uploaded.

Children

MindBuilder is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data sharing and sale

We do not share, sell, rent or disclose personal information, because we do not collect any.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Your documents are in your own hands: delete the files, or the app, and nothing of yours remains with us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
